Construction Details

The building was built by Samsung Engineering & Construction, a South Korean company, together with Arabtec of UAE and Besix from Belgium. The main structural system is concrete; over 45,000 m3 (58,900 cu yd) of it were used. The total concrete weight is 120,000 short tons; 110,000 long tons or 110,000 tonnes. There are 192 piles each measuring 1.5 meter diameter x 43 m long at a depth of 64 ft (50 m). Construction time is estimated at 22 million man-hours.
