Beer Pong Table Sizes

Beer pong table sizes differ, but the one used in the World Series of Beer Pong (WSOBP) is 8′ x 2′ x 27.5″. Although this is the standard, other sizes can be used in casual play. Balls used are 40 mm (1.6 in) or 38 mm (1.5 in) ping pong balls. Most of the cups used are 16 US fluid-ounce (470 ml). These are the disposable types with ridge lines. This is necessary to determine the amount of beer that will be poured.

Overview

This game is also called Beirut. It is a kind of drinking game. Participants hurl a ping pong ball along a table. The goal is to put the ball in a cup of beer. A standard game is comprised of two teams with two or four players each. Several cups are arranged in a triangle on both sides.

Rules

There are no standard rules. It can vary from game to game and tourney to tourney. However, most games use ten or six plastic cups. The teams take turns trying to put ping pong balls in the opposing cups. Beer pong table sizes may vary, but some rules are similar. If a ball ends up in a cup, the beer inside has to be drunk by the opposing team.

The cup is placed again in the triangle or set aside. If the cup is inserted again and it is knocked by the opposing team, the cup is taken out. If their opponents hurl the ball in an empty cup and it goes in, they must drink from one of the other cups. Those who take out all of the other side’s cups will win.

Play order is not standardized. In some cases, players on opposing teams alternate throwing the ball in the cups. In other games, both players in a team go first followed by the other.

The Playing Table

Most of these games are played on a folding banquet table or a ping pong table. But other players allow you to make a personalized table. The average table uses a plywood board. The high end ones have liquid-proof coating. The table can also be decorated.

Various beer pong table sizes are being sold today. Among the variants sold are inflatable tables. Smaller, portable kinds are now available. However, any surface can be used. The only condition is that the surface is even. Note also that the cups used can vary from the ones stated earlier.
