Drill Press Dimensions

If your ordinary tools just won’t cut it, a drill press could be more effective. They can be used on cast iron and are more powerful than ordinary drills. These specifications may prove useful as a guide.

Drill Press Dimensions: Ellis 12000 Drill Press

The height is 71” and the width is 28 3/8”. The depth is 32 3/8”. The base is 18 1/2” x 26” (t- slotted). There are a couple of slots for the 1/2” t-bolts. The table is 19” x 21 1/4” with two t bolt slots. The motor is 2 HP D.C. plug in 220 single phase and the drill to center is 16”.

The capacity is 1 1/16” for steel and 1 1/4” for cast iron. The tapping capacity is 3/4” and the diameter of the quill is 3”. The column diameter is 4 1/2” and the spindle travel is 5”. The spindle to table is 23 1/2”. The base spindle is 46”.

This drill is 70 1/2” high and the depth is 34 1/4”. The width is 20”. The base is t- slotted (18” X 25 1/2”). The table is t- slotted 16 5/8” X 18 5/8” with coolant trough. The spindle to base is 48 1/8” and the spindle to table is 26 1/2”.

The column diameter is 4” and the quill diameter is 2 1/8”. The Morse taper is No. 3 and the drilling capacity is 1 1/16” for steel and 1 1/4” for cast iron. The drill to center is 20”. The spindle speed is 0 – 1200 RPM.

The depth is 29” and the width is 20”. The height is 69 1/2” and the base is 16 3/8” x 26 5/8” (t slotted). The table is 15 7/8” X 17 7/8” with slots for 1/2” t-bolts. The spindle to base is 46 1/4”; the spindle travel is 5 3/8” and the spindle to table is 27 1/4”.

The quill diameter is 3” and the column diameter is 4”. The tapping capacity is 3/4”. The drilling is 1 1/16” for steel and 1 1/4” for cast iron. The drill to center is 18 1/8” and the spindle speed is 0 – 1200 RPM.

The drill is 69" x 14" x 27 (H x W x L). The 17” drill press has a chuck capacity of up to 5/8". The table measures 12" x 12" and the chuck to table is 24". From chuck to base it is 43-3/4". The footprint is 12-1/2" x 20".

The machine is powered by a 3/4 HP (115V/230V) motor. There are 16 speeds to choose from. The stroke is 6”. There is also a safety switch and adjustable depth stop. There is also a poly-v-belt drive system and it has a split head casting.

The drill press dimensions and specifications are designed for heavy duty use. That being said, each drill press is setup differently, so check the one you’re going to buy.
