The most widely used business envelope dimensions in the United States is the #10. It measures 4 1/8 x 9 1/2. This size has several options such as commercial flap, Policy, Flap and Square Flap. But there are many other sizes that you can use. Some of them are the following.

Commercial and Office Envelopes

The 6 1/4 envelope has dimensions of 3.5″ x 6″. The 6 3/4 type measures 3.625″ x 6.5″ while the 8 5/8 measures 3.625″ x 8.625″. The 7 type measures 3.75″ x 6.75″; the Monarch (7 3/4) is 3.875″ x 7.5″and the 9 is 3.875″ x 8.875″. The 9 (policy) measures 4″ x 9″ while the DL is 4.313″ x 8.625″. Envelope type 11 measures 4.5″ x 10.375″. Type 12 has dimensions of 4.75″ x 11″ and the 14 type size is 5″ x 11.5″. Type 16 is 6″ x 12″.

The number 9 size is often placed in a number 10 envelope. When this is done, it means the number 9 is a reply envelope.
