Window Envelope Dimensions

There are many window envelope dimensions used by companies. The following are the standards used. There may be other sizes available, but they are not as popular.

Common Specifications

The #6 3/4 measures 3-5/8″ x 6-1/2″. Its window size is 1-1/8” X 4-1/2” and the window from left is 7/8”. The window from bottom is 1 / 2”. #7 measures 3-3/4″ x 6-3/4″. The window size is 1-1/8” X 4-1/2” and the window from left is also 7/8”.

The window from bottom is 1 / 2”. The #7 3/4 has dimensions of 3-7/8″ x 7-1/2″. Its window size is 1-1/8” X 4-1/2” and the window from left is 7/8”. The window from bottom is also 1 / 2”.

#8 5/8 has measurements of 3-5/8″ x 8-5/8″ and a window size of 1” X 4”. The window from left is 1”. The window from bottom is 3 / 4”. #9 has dimensions of 3-7/8″ x 8-7/8″. The window size is 1-1/8” X 4-1/2”. The window from left is 7/8”. #10 measures 4-1/8″ x 9-1/2″ and comes with a window size of 1-1/8” X 4-1/2”.

#11 has dimensions of 4-1/2″ x 10-3/8″ while #12 measures 4-3/4″ x 11″. #14 window envelope dimensions are 5″ x 11-1/2″. #9, #10, #11, #12 and #14 all have 7/8” window from left specifications. Their windows from bottom are all 1 / 2”.

Double Window Sizes

These are many to choose from. The #9 is 3-7/8″ x 8-7/8″ with the top window at 1-1/8″ x 3-1/2″. The bottom window is 1″ x 4″. Other well known sizes are 3-3/4″ x 8-5/8″ and 4-1/8″ x 9-1/2. Some companies may offer more sizes.

Custom Envelope Sizes

Apart from the sizes stated here, many companies will make custom envelopes for you. Manufacturers also have several window sizes that can be set in various spots. However, custom made envelopes require a minimum number of orders. This can range from a few hundred to over two thousand. The quality of the envelope will also be a factor.
Measuring the Window

To measure the window’s position on the envelope, begin from the envelope’s left side. For instance, start 1” off the left side. Step two is to measure from the bottom to the point where you want the window to commence.

Now you can get the window envelope dimensions by measuring width x height. The same techniques can be used if the envelope has two windows.
