Row Z Post Dimensions

Row Z post dimensions indicate the seating arrangements used in stadiums and theaters. Seat widths can vary depending on the stadium. Many seats in football arenas are 18–22-inches (46–56 cm) wide. Leg rooms can be from 33–39 inches (84–99 cm). Some stadiums have narrower seats.

Definition

The term stems from the seating configuration used in stadiums. Usually Row A refers to the seats closest to the action. The Z seats are those furthest back. The seats are configured alphabetically.

Features

These seating arrangements are also known as theater seating. It is commonly used in venues for the performing arts. In this setup, the seats are set higher than those which are fronting them. This configuration means those at the back will have an unobstructed view. This setup is very convenient when watching sporting events. The same set up is used in move houses, religious institutions and many others.

Although this set up is common, there are alternatives. One of them involves setting the focal point higher. This provides the audience a clear of the event. This is often used in concerts. All the seats are on the same level. But the stage is high so everyone has to gaze up to look. This gives everyone a chance to see them clearly.
