Paper Size Chart

When discussing a Paper Size Chart one needs to understand that there are two standards used for paper today.Paper Size Chart The international standard or ISO is used in many European and South American countries. The North American sizes are employed in the US and a few other countries.

Paper Size Chart – the ISO Standards (in mm)

The most commonly used are the A series. A0 is 841 × 1189 mm, while A1 is 594 × 841. A2 is 420 × 594; A3 is 297 × 420, A4 is 210 × 297 and A5 is 148 × 210. A6 measures 105 × 148 and A7 74 × 105. A8 is 52 × 74, A9 is 37 × 52 and A10 is 26 × 37.

B0 is 1000 × 1414, while B1 is 707 × 1000. B2 is 500 × 707, B3 is 353 × 500 and B4 is 250 × 353. B5 measures 176 × 250; B6 is 125 × 176; B7 is 88 × 125 and B8 is 62 × 88. B9 is 44 × 62 and B10 is 31 × 44.

Paper Size Chart – North American Standards (in inches)

The letter measures 8.5 × 11”; the legal is 8.5 × 14 and the junior legal 8.0 × 5.0”. The ledger is 17 × 11 and the tabloid 11 × 17. Their mm equivalents are letter 216 × 279, legal 216 × 356, junior legal 203 × 127, ledger 432 × 279 and tabloid 279 × 432.

Other papers used in the US are the ANSI. ANSI A measures 8½ × 11 in while ANSI B is 17 × 11 or 11 × 17. ANSI C measures 17 × 22, ANSI D is 22 × 34 and ANSI E 34 × 44.

Paper Size Chart – Inch Paper Sizes (in inches)

They include the emperor, 48 × 72, the antiquarian, 31 × 53 and the grand eagle 28.75 × 42. The double elephant is 26.75 × 40 while the atlas measures 26 × 34. The colombier reassures 23.5 × 34.5 and the double demy 22.5 × 35.5. The Imperial is 22 × 30 while the double large post measures 21 × 33.

The size of the elephant is 23 x 36″. The cartridge paper is 21 x 36 and the royal 20 x 35. The double post measures 19 × 30.5; the super royal is 19 x 27 and the crown s 15 × 20. The pinched post is 14.75 × 18.5 and the brief 13.5 × 16.

Other Paper Sizes (in mm)

The PA0 measures 840 × 1120; the PA1 is 560 × 840 and the PA2, 420 × 560. The PA3 measures 280 × 420 while the PA4 is 210 × 280. The PA5 is 140 × 210 and the PA6, 105 × 140. The PA7 is 70 × 105; the PA8, 52 × 70 and the PA9, 35 × 52.

The PA10 measures 26 × 35. These sizes are often used in slide presentations and some data displays. These sizes are also utilized in some magazines.

Most of the North American and ISO paper sizes are supported by inkjet and laser printers. Almost all printers allow you to input custom values so other sizes can be accommodated as well. So, you can see how a Paper Size Chart can be helpful to ensure a good product and great print everytime.
