The Different Dimensions of a Pallet

The ISO Pallets

According to the International Organization for Standardization, there are six different kinds of pallet dimensions. The first one is widely used in North America, the measurement of which is 48 inches by 40 inches or 1,219 millimeters by 1,016 millimeters. The second one is commonly used in Asia and Europe, which is 39.37 inches by 47.24 inches or 1,000 millimeters by 1,200 millimeters.

The third is very common in Australia, the measurement of which is 44.88 inches by 44.88 inches or 1,165 millimeters by 1,165 millimeters. The fourth option is used in Asia, Europe and North America, which measures 42 inches by 42 inches or 1,067 millimeters by 1,067 millimeters. The fifth one is commonly in Asia, which measures 43.30 inches by 43.30 inches or 1,100 millimeters by 1,100 millimeters. The sixth and last ISO pallet dimension is used in Europe, which measures 31.50 inches by 47.24 inches or 800 millimeters by 1,200 millimeters.

North American Pallets

In North America, there are different pallet dimensions used. For the grocery industry, the pallets used measure 48 inches by 40 inches or 1,219 millimeters by 1,016 millimeters. In the paint and telecommunications industries, they use pallets that measure 42 inches by 42 inches or 1,067 millimeters by 1,067 millimeters. For the beverage industry, the pallets used measure 36 inches by 36 inches or 914 millimeters by 914 millimeters. In the chemical industry, the pallets measure 48 inches by 42 inches or 1,219 millimeters by 1,067 millimeters.

European Pallets

In Europe, the European Pallet Association is responsible for sanctioning pallets. There are four types of EURO pallet. The first one is EUR1, the dimensions of which is 800 millimeters by 1,200 millimeters. The second one is EUR2, which measures 1,200 millimeters by 1,000 millimeters. The third one is EUR3, the measurement of which is 1,000 millimeters by 1,200 millimeters.

The fourth version is EUR6, the dimensions of which is 800 millimeters by 600 millimeters. Besides these four basic sizes, there are two ISO alternative sizes in the area. The first one measures 600 millimeters by 400 millimeters, while the second one measures 400 millimeters by 300 millimeters.
