A skidder is used for hauling logs that have been cut. Using the skidder, the logs are sent to another vehicle where they will be processed or sent to a mill. There are many kinds of skidders, and the following are examples.

Caterpillar 527 Track Skidder Dimensions

The 527 has an operating weight of 38000 lb / 17236 kg. The fuel capacity is 75.29 gal / 285 L. The net flywheel power is 150 hp / 112 kW and the gross power is 166 hp / 124 kW.

Aside from the skidder dimensions, the buyer must also look into the durability of the machine. A high quality skidder should be able to work in steep terrain without losing productivity. A machine that can work in less than ideal underfoot conditions is also a must.
