How to Use a Handheld Ceramic Tile Cutter
Step 1 
Measure and mark the ceramic tile that will be sliced. Place the tiles on an even hard surface. Position the straight edge by the mark.
Step 2
Get the ceramic tile cutter. Holding it by the handles, position the scoring wheel at the tile end away from you. Start pulling the wheel towards you. Apply firm and consistent pressure. Score the surface as you pull.
Step 3
Grab the tile and put it between the crimping tool jaws. Put the score on the single blade with the back of the tile on the single blade. The tile’s top (the one with the score) will be between the double blades. Put pressure on the handles. The tile will be broken.
How to Use Electric Ceramic Tile Cutters
These instructions should work regardless of the ceramic tile cutter dimensions. But if your cutter has additional instructions, follow it.
Step 1 
Put the electric tile cutter on an even surface. This is necessary so the machine will not wobble or create uneven cuts.
Step 2
Pour water in the electric cutter’s reservoir. Make sure there is enough water so the pump is always covered. Insufficient water will cause the tile saw cutter to overheat.
Step 3
Mark the back of the ceramic tile where you will perform the cut. Turn the cutter on.
Step 4
Put a wood block behind the cutter to shield your hands. Push the wood so the tiles go into the cutter. Do this slowly so the tiles don’t crack. Keep the hands free from the blade.
Step 5
Turn off the motor. Remove the tile. To make more cuts, place the tile back in and make more cuts if necessary.
Tips and Warnings
Put on your gloves and safety goggles before using the cutter. New users should practice with old tiles so you can get the hang of it first. If cutting thick tiles, you will need to run the cutter on both sides. The product specs will inform you of its strength.
