How big is a Bagpipe?
The following is a guide to the different bagpipe sizes available 
from various brands. Remember that the heights of these bags are taken when the bag is set down flat. The measurement is from the bag’s top to the widest section of the center bag at the opposing side. The length is from the neck’s tip to the tail.
L&M Bagpipes
Their 1/2 size cowhide bag is 8.75 inches (22.2 cm) high and 23 inches (58.5 cm) long. The 3/4 size cowhide bag is 8.75 inches (22.2 cm) high and 25.5 inches (65 cm) long. Their regular cowhide bag is 9 inches (22.8 cm) high and 28 inches (71.0 cm) long. The Scotian cowhide small bagpipe size is 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) high and 29 inches (73.5 cm) long.
Bannatyne
The small Bannatyne bagpipe is 9 inches (22.8 cm) high and 24 inches (61 cm) long. Their extended small is 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) high and has a length of 26.5 inches (67.5 cm). The medium size is 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) high and has a length of 26.5 inches (67.5 cm). The Bannatyne large is 11.5 inches (29.2 cm) high and has a length of 29 inches (73.5 cm).
Ross
The Ross Livingstone is 9 inches (23.0 cm) high and is 27.5 inches (70.0 cm) long. The Ross small bagpipe is 9 inches (22.8 cm) high and 27.5 inches (70.0 cm) long. The Ross small sealed bagpipe size is 9.75 inches (25.0 cm) high and 28.3 inches (72.0 cm) long.
The small extended is 10 inches (25.5 cm) high and has a length of 27.5 inches (70.0 cm). Their other bagpipes measure 10.5 inches (27.0 cm) x 26.4 inches (67.0 cm), 10.5 inches (27.0 cm) x 28.3 inches (72.0 cm) and 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) x 28.5 inches (72.5 cm).
Other Bagpipes
The Canmore small bagpipe is 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) high. The MacHarg regular is 9.5 inches (24.1 cm) inches high and 26.5 inches (67.5 cm) long. The Monarch is 9.5 inches (24.0 cm) high and 27.5 inches (70.0 cm) long.
The Gannaway bagpipe is 9.75 inches (24.8 cm) high and 26 inches (66 cm) in length. The Shepherd bagpipe is 9.75 inches (22.8 cm) high and 26.5 inches (67.5 cm) long. A Begg bagpipe is 10 inches (25.4 cm) high and 28 inches (71.0 cm) long. The Bowes bagpipe is 10 inches (25.4 cm) tall and 28.5 inches (72.5 cm) in length.
The length of the R.G. Hardie Airtight bagpipe is 28 inches (71.0 cm) and its height is 10 inches (25.4 cm). The Bennett bagpipe is 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) high and 29 inches (73.5 cm) long. The Moose bagpipe has a length of 29.3 inches (74.5 cm) and a height of 10.5 inches (27.0 cm).
Note that some bagpipe dimensions are measured in meters. However, the store personnel should be able to give you the measurement in inches if you like.
Even though the manufacturer may specify the bagpipe size, the bag may shrink or expand depending on the temperature and how well it is taken care of.
