As cars evolved, so have their shapes and specifications. The following examples illustrate how varied these vehicles have become.

Size of an Automobile: Ferrari F40

The Ferrari F40 has a wheelbase measuring 2,451 mm (96.5 in). The car is 1,980 mm (78 in) wide and 4,430 mm (174 in) long and the height is 1,130 mm (44 in). The curb weight is 1,100 kg (2,400 lb).

The power output is 478 PS (352 kW; 471 hp) at 7000 rpm. During tests the car was able to go from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds. The F40 was also the first production car to go beyond 200 mph (322 km/h). The engine is 2,936 cc (2.9 L) V8 478 PS (352 kW / 471 hp). The transmission is 5-speed manual.

Size of an Automobile: Rolls-Royce Phantom 2003

The Phantom has a wheelbase of 140.6 in (3571 mm). It has a height of 64.3 in (1633 mm) and is 229.7 in (5834 mm) long. It is 78.3 in (1989 mm) wide. The transmission is ZF 6-speed automatic. The engine is 6.75 L V12 453 bhp and the curb weight is 2,485 kg (5,480 lb).

Customers can select from 44,000 paint colors and comes with a power reserve dial to indicate how much power is left. The doors are operated by remote. They have an electronic lock so it doesn’t open when you are driving.

Size of an Automobile: Jaguar X-Type

The Jaguar X-Type saloon is 4,672 mm (183.9 in) long while the estate version is 185.5 in (4,710 mm). The wheelbase is 106.7 in (2,710 mm). The bodywork is 70.4 in (1,790 mm). The 2001-2008 models are 78.8 in (2,000 mm) long, while the 2009 models are 2,000 mm (78.7 in).

The height of the 2009 saloon is 54.8 in (1,390 mm). The estate is also 58.4 in (1,480 mm). The fuel capacity is 61.5 L. The X-Type was produced by Jaguar from 2001 to 2009. It was the first time the company came up with a 4-door saloon.

Size of an Automobile: BMW E30 / E36 M3

The car has a length of 171.1 in (4346 mm) and is 53.9 in (1369 mm) high. The car is 66.1 in (1679 mm) wide and the wheelbase is 101.1 in (2568 mm). The body style is a 2-door coupe. Constructed in Germany, the E30 has a 2.3 L I4 engine. The transmission is 5-speed manual.

Another car in the M3 series is the E36 M3. The wheelbase is 106.3 in (2700 mm). The convertible version has a wheelbase measuring 106.7 in (2710 mm). It is 174.5 in (4432 mm) long and 67.3 in (1709 mm) wide.

The height is 52.6 in (1336 mm) and the curb weight is 1,460 kg (3,219 lb). The M3 were developed as high end versions of the BMW Series 3.
