Steering wheel covers not only provide you with a decorative add-on to enhance the look of the interiors of your car but more importantly, they provide you with a better grip on the wheel as you drive around in your car.

Steering wheel covers come in a variety of styles, colors and designs. There are covers that are made from leather and there are also steering wheel covers that are made from rubber and even a few designs covered in fur.

There is not much variety in sizes of steering wheel covers as these are basically made to fit most standard-sized steering wheels.

Sizes of Steering Wheel Covers

Readily available sizes of steering wheel covers are generally around 15 inches in length by 15 inches in height by 1.5 inches in width. These will fit most standard-sized steering wheels.

Standard sizes for steering wheels are basically around 37 up to 39 centimeters in diameter or about 14.6 inches up to 15.35 inches in diameter.

When looking at sizes of steering wheel covers, you may also find manufacturers who simply include in the labels the diameter of the wheels that they will fit. Usually, you will find covers that indicate they are ideal for steering wheels that are between 14.5 and 15.5 inches in diameter.

If you replaced your vehicle’s stock steering wheel with a customized one, you can also find sizes of steering wheel covers that will fit smaller or larger steering wheels.

Smaller sizes are basically around 33 up to 37 centimeters in diameter. This is about 13 up to 14.57 inches in diameter. For larger steering wheels, you can find sizes of steering wheel covers that are approximately between 39 and 42 centimeters in diameter.

This is around 15.35 and 16.53 inches in diameter.

Buying Your Steering Wheel Cover

Once you have decided the material, color and design of your steering wheel cover; it is now time to look at the sizes.

While as mentioned above, most steering wheel covers come in sizes that fit standard-sized steering wheels and there are even smaller or larger versions of these; you may want to double check the size of your vehicle’s steering wheel.

Just to be sure that you are looking at the right sizes of steering wheel covers; you should measure the diameter of your steering wheel and then inform the supplier or manufacturer about the size of your wheel.

This will ensure that the cover will snugly fit your existing steering wheel to give you a better handle and grip.
