Dimensions Guide

The tent size you choose will depend on a host of factors. It isn’t always correct to just pick the ones that are the largest. Use the following examples as a guide the next time you manage a gathering.

Standup Cocktail Sizes

For a standup cocktail table with 25 people, the tent dimensions should be 10 x 10 (sq footage, 100). For 50 people, the tent should be 10 x 20 (sq footage 200). For 80 people, it should be 20 x 20 (square footage 400).

For 120 people, the size is 20 x 30 (sq footage 600). 20 x 40 (sq footage 800) is ideal if the people number 160. If it’s 240, the tent should be 30 x 40 (1200 sq ft). Tent size 30 x 60 (1800 sq ft) is suitable if the people number 360.

For 480, the size should be 40 x 60 (2400 sq ft). 40 x 80 (3200 sq ft) is the size if the guests are 640. 40 x 100 (4000 sq ft) is recommended if there are 800 individuals. For 1120 people, the tent should be 40 x 140 (5600 sq footage).

For 1280 people, the size should be 40 x 160 (6400 sq ft); 60 x 120 (7200 sq ft) for 1440 people; 60 x 150 (9000 sq ft) for 1800 and 60 x 180 (10,800 sq ft) for 2160. For 2520 people, it should be 60 x 210 (12,600 sq footage).

Notes on the tent size: if there is going to be a dance floor, there should be 3 square feet of space for every individual. If there’s a band, the space should be 10 square feet per individual. For drums, it must be 20 square feet; grand piano, about 100 sq feet; for a bar, it should be 30 square feet.

Theater Style Sizes

The measurement here is with stage and seating.

If there are 25 guests, the tent should be 15 x 20. If the guests are 50, the size should be 20 x 25. For 75 guests, the size needs to be 20 x 35. For 100 guests, it is 30 x 30. For 100 guests, the tent size needs to be 30 x 30; for 125 guests, the size should be 30 x 40.

A tent measuring 30 x 45 is recommended if the individuals number 150. If there are 175 people, the dimensions should be 30 x 55. If there are 200 people, it should be 30 x 60; for 225, the size needs to be s30 x 70. Other guest numbers and sizes: 250, 40 x 55; 275, 40 x 60; 300, 40 x 70.

If it is a cocktail party with bars, the sizes are: 300 people, 20 x 20; 1200, 30 x 40; 2400, 40 x 60; 2700, 40 x 65; 3000, 40 x 75 and for 3600 people, 40 x 90.
