Longest Hair
The world’s longest hair belongs to a woman from China. Xie Quiping’s hair was measured back in 2004 and it was approximately 5.627 meters long. When it was measured, she had been growing her hair for over 30 years; having foregone hair cuts since she was 13 years old, back in 1973.
How Small is a Hair Cell?
Hair cells are located in the organ of Corti inside the ear. Hair cells vibrate due to sound waves and produce electrical signals that the auditory nerve sends to the brain.
