In the United States, the Ford Victoria models are the most widely used police cars, with nearly 60% of the force using any of the following models. Other countries use different cars or vehicles.

Police Car Dimensions: Ford Crown Victoria PPV 1st Generation (1992–97)

The length of the 1992-94 models is 212.4 in (5395 mm); for the 1995-97 models it is 212.0 in (5385 mm). The height of the 1992-94 models is 56.7 in (1440 mm); for the 1995-97 models it is 56.8 in (1443 mm).

The engine being used is 4.6 L Modular V8 and the transmission is 4-speed automatic. The wheelbase is 114.4 in (2906 mm). The fuel capacity is 20 US gallons / 75.7 liters. The cars underwent several design changes. In 1993, a new front grill was added as well as a reflector strip in between the taillights.

Police Car Dimensions: Ford Crown Victoria PPV 2nd Generation (1998–present)

This car is 212.0 in (5385 mm) long and has a wheelbase measuring 114.7 in (2913 mm). It uses a 4.6 L Modular V8 engine and a 4-speed automatic. The width of the 2007 model is 77.3 in (1963 mm); for the 1998-2006 models it is 78.2 in (1986 mm).

The height of the 1998-2003, 2007-present models is 56.8 in (1443 mm). For the 2002-04 models it is 58.3 in (1481 mm). The fuel capacity is 19 US gallons / 71.9 liters.

The 1998 to 2002 models have a 4 link rear suspension. Also implemented was a coil on plug ignition. Other additions included were an emergency trunk release system and child seats.

Police Car Dimensions: Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor 1st Generation

In production from 1992–97, the car uses a 4.6 L Modular V8 engine and is equipped with a 4 speed automatic transmission. The wheelbase is 114.4 in (2906 mm). The length of the 1992–94 models is 212.4 in (5395 mm). For the 1995–97 models it is 212.0 in (5385 mm).

The width is 77.8 in (1976 mm). The height of the 1992–94 models is 56.7 in (1440 mm); for the 1995–97 cars it is 56.8 in (1443 mm). The fuel capacity is 20 US gal (or 76 L; 17 imp gal). The 1992 models were fitted with a solid grill insert on the front. It was replaced with a chrome grille the following year.

The height of the 1998–2006, 2007 cars is 56.8 in (1443 mm). The height of the 2002–04 models is 58.3 in (1481 mm). The fuel capacity is 19 US gal (72 L; 16 imp gal).
