Pile Driver Dimensions
A pile driver is a device used in construction for the installation of piles.
The piles are the basic building blocks of large buildings and structures.
Pile Driver Sizes
There are many kinds of pile drivers so their specifications will vary. Diesel hammers, hydraulic hammers, hydraulic press-in and piling rigs are all pile drivers, but their specs differ.
The piling rigs usually have a pile diameter of 1.5-4 m and the maximum depth is 60 to 90 m. The smaller sized piling rigs will have a 60-100 kN m torque with a drilling diameter of 0.5-1.2 m. The engine power is around 108 kW.
The drilling depth is 40 m. The medium piling rigs have a maximum drilling diameter of 60 m and the drilling depth is 80 m. The torque is about 240 kN m and the engine power is 300 kW.
The piling rig is used on silty clay, sand soil and other surfaces. They are frequently applied on diagram walls and other foundations. Its components may consist of a depth indicator, auto vertical adjustor, telescopic drill pipe and automatic lift box-type mast. The piling rig is used for building highways, buildings, bridges and other projects.
Diesel Hammers
The diesel pile hammer is basically a 2-sroke diesel engine. The apparatus joined to the pile’s top is the cylinder and the weight is the piston. Piledriving starts when the weight is raised and draws air to the cylinder.
After the weight is dropped, the piston squeezes the air, beginning the piledriving process. These are available in various pile driver sizes as well.
Other Facts about Pile Drivers
Throughout history, various types of pile drivers have been used. The basic system still consists of a weighted object which is pulled to a specified height on the pulley system. Guide rods are also utilized so the pile driver remains in place. The piling is set below the pile driver and then dropped.
The piling will need numerous hits before it is installed. However, this is only the basic configuration. Other pile drivers may add other components. Various pile drivers can be used on cement, timber and steel, but their configurations will vary.
Regardless of the pile driver size, several issues have to be accounted for when using the pile driver. The first of this would be to reduce the noise, as it can be substantial. The crews working with pile drivers should also wear the proper outfits.
