The 1523/1524 Reference Thermometers measure 96 mm x 200 mm x 47 mm (3.75 in x 7.9 in x 1.86 in). They weigh 0.65 kg (1.4 lb). The thermometers are available in two models, the 1523 and the 1524. The 1523 has a single channel that can store up to 25 readings. Model 1524 has two channels. It allows you to record up to 15,000 measurements.

The two thermometers can be used for scientific research. They can record PRTs, thermistors, thermocouples and create graphs. The dual channel features of model 1524 allow you to perform double the work at half the time.

Features

Aside from having the same electronic thermometer dimensions, the 1523/24 models have 128×64-backlit LCD display. This allows you to view the trends in a graphical manner.

A touch of a button can alter the graph’s resolution. This makes it easy to view the temperature. The thermometers also let you view different statistics like standard deviation, minimum and maximum values. The thermometers also come with software that allows you to upload the data to a computer.

The 1523 Model

The thermometer has a RS-232 serial interface connector and a sensor connector. The device can be plugged using a power adapter. Alternatively you can use 3 AA batteries. It has support for RTDs and PRTs.

The 1524 Model

The 1524 has two channels. The sample interval is 0.3 seconds. The sensor types are PRTs, RTDs, thermistors, and thermocouples. The types of thermocouple are C, E, J, K, L, M, N, T, U, B, R and S. The 1524 model needs a 12 V dc universal power supply or three AA alkaline batteries.

Other thermometers come with various other technical features. Make sure you understand what those extra features are, as you will be paying more for them.
