Dimensions Guide

Boot sizes in the United States are available in men’s, women’s and youth sizes. You can use the following information as reference when comparing US boot types with those in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Women’s Sizes

The smallest size is 3 wm, followed by 3.5 wm, 4 wm, 4.5 wm and 5 wm. Next is the 5.5 wm size followed by 6 wm, 6.5 wm, 7 wm and 7.5 wm. 8 wm is followed by 8.5 wm, 9 wm, 9.5 wm and 10 wm. The largest ones are 10.5 wm, 11 wm, 11.5 wm and 12 wm.

Youth Sizes

It starts with 6 jr followed by 7 jr, 8 jr, 9 jr, 10 jr, 11 jr, 12 jr and13 jr. The succeeding boot sizes are the youth (yth) sizes, beginning with 1 yth. It is followed by 2 yth, 2.5 yth, 3 yth, 3.5 yth, 4 yth and 4.5 yth.

Men’s Sizes

The men’s size chart starts with the 5 mn, followed by the 5.5 mn, 6 mn, 6.5 mn, 7 mn, 7.5 mn, 8 mn, 8.5 mn and 9 mn. Next are the 9.5 mn size, 10 mn, 10.5 mn, 11 mn and 11.5 mn. The biggest are 12 mn, 13 mn, 14 mn and 15 mn.

UK Size Equivalents

1 UK is equal to 13 jr. 1.5 UK is equal to 1 yth and 3 wm. Here are the rest of the UK boot sizes and their respective US equivalents. 2.5 UK (2.5 yth, 4 wm), 3 UK (3 yth, 4.5 wm); 3 UK (3.5 yth, 5 wm) while for 3.5 UK the equivalents are 4 yth and 5.5 wm.

For 4 UK, it is 4.5 yth and 6 wm; for 4.5 UK (5 mn, 6.5 wm); 5 UK (5.5 mn, 7 wm); 5.5 UK (6 mn, 7.5 wm); 6 UK (6.5 mn, 8 wm) and 6.5 UK (7 mn, 8.5 wm). The 7 UK size is equal to 7.5 mn and 9 wm; for 7.5 UK, it is 8 mn and 9.5 wm; 8 UK (8.5 mn, 10 wm) and 8.5 UK (9 mn, 10.5 wm).

9 UK boot sizes are equal to 9.5 mn and 11 wm; 9.5 UK (10 mn and 11.5 wm); 10 UK (10.5 mn and 12 wm). The 10.5 UK is equal to 11 mn; the 11 UK is equal to 11.5 mn. 11.5 UK is the same as 12 mn. The 12 UK is the same as 13 mn; 13 UK is equal to 14 mn and 14 UK to 15 mn.

European Sizes

Size 32 is equal to 1 yth; 34 with 2.5 yth and 34.5 with 3 yth. Size 36 is the same as 4.5 yth and 37 5 mn. Size 38 is equal to 6 mn; size 40 (7 mn); 41 8 mn), size 43 (9 mn), 44 (10 mn) and 45 (11 mn). European size 45.5 is equivalent to 11.5 mn; 46 with 12 mn; 47 with 13 mn and 48 14 mn. The biggest is 50 (15 mn).

Determining your boot size is no different from assessing your shoe size. Aside from the size, the quality of the boots needs to be evaluated as well.
