Best Dimensions of a Man Cave

A man cave is defined as a place reserved for males and male activities like drinking beer and watching TV. Basically the man cave is where a man can just be a man.

Best Man Cave Dimensions

Because the man cave is all about individuality, there are no hard and fast rules about the sizes. If space is limited, you can separate the space you have into a TV room and a bar where your drinks are installed.

You can put the bar by the adjacent wall (don’t put it in the 90 degree corner). This way you will be able to make the most of the space. The TV is crucial of course; the larger the TV the more space you will need.

Maximizing the Space

If the man cave dimensions are limited, keep the TV area simple as well as the accessories. Keep the accessories to a minimum. The less space the TV area takes up, the roomier it will seem. Too much paraphernalia will make the cave feel cramped especially when you invite your buddies over.

A simple arraignment is to have that 52 inch TV hanging on the wall. The couch should be on the opposite side. This will give you sufficient room. It’s up to you to decide what to put in the center area.

If you’re making a two or three room man cave, you’ve got to plan ahead. Make a sketch of the basic design. In terms of location, the man cave can be anywhere in the house.

Most of the time, the man cave is in an unused room in the house. Others set up their man cave in the basement or attic. Others prefer the garage. The man cave dimensions will vary depending on the space available.

Personal Preferences

Again it’s all about what you want. It’s your own personal space so design as you like. If you’re a basketball fan, fill the room with basketballs, jerseys posters etc. If you love movies, stuff the place with movie posters and DVDs. The same rule applies if you’re into 80s music, football, wrestling, NASCAR etc.

Jazzing up the Place

An entertainment system is perfect for your man cave. If you can’t afford a new one, you can always go online and look for cheaper sets. You can find these at auction sites. You can also find DVD players, satellite dishes, cables and other necessities on the Web.

If you’ll be having your friends over, get a nice big couch. If you’ll be keeping the man cave to yourself, a recliner will be fine. If you can’t afford a new couch, you can find cheap ones at auction sites and thrift shops.

Other items you can add to the man cave are sports memorabilia, high school and college keepsakes and many more. If the room is enclosed, make sure you have a lock so no one can get in.

Finally, don’t worry about what others think of your creation. Whatever the man cave dimensions you have are, the most important thing is to make it your own.
